In celebration of the 50 Years of ASEAN, the ASEAN Forum and Networking Dinner is being organised by the Council for International Trade & Commerce SA in

association with its member ASEAN organisations, and with the generous support of the Department of State Development of the Government of South Australia, and other sponsors.

The ASEAN Business Forum will combine over 30 informative and engaging speakers, with time for industry colleagues to network and discuss trade and investment opportunities, culminating with a multicultural Networking Dinner.

The Australia ASEAN Business Forum brings together local, national and international leaders and experts and is a celebration of the 40th Year of Australia ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) relations. The Forum is being organised by the Council for International Trade & Commerce in association with its member ASEAN organisations and with the generous support of the Government of South Australia and other sponsors. The ASEAN grouping comprises ten countries of South East Asia with a combined population of 600 million people.

Steven Baker – SA Chair Australia Indonesia Business Council

Steven joined AIBC in 2008 and has worked and lived in Indonesia since 2002. Steven’s first experience with Indonesia was in 1997-98 when he studied Indonesian at Flinders University and was fortunate enough to attend a language and culture immersion course with Universitas Nusa Cendana in Kupang, West Timor. Following this Steven joined URS, a leading environmental and design engineering firm, in 2002 and has been managing a variety of public and private sector projects in Indonesia ever since, including involvement in some of the country’s biggest national priority development projects in the mining and oil & gas sectors. Steven has travelled, worked and lived in many parts of Indonesia and enjoys the cultural diversity of doing business in different regions within the one country and the spectacular diving and biodiversity.

Steven looks forward to the next few years as SA Chair and continuing the great work and representation made at national level by members in South Australia.
